From Pigment to Pixels: Panel Discussion at Brown’s London Art Weekend

This Saturday 2 July 2016, Sedition’s Director Rory Blain will be presenting on a panel to discuss the present and future of digital art at Brown’s London Art Weekend. From Pigment to Pixels is one part of series of talks and events held at Brown’s Hotel in London’s Mayfair over the weekend of 1-3 July. The event brings together experts in the field of digital art to examine how new technological developments are set to shape the art creating and art collecting landscapes. Panellists include: Anders Petterson, founder of ArtTactic, independent curator, Estela Oliva, and artist Eloise Fornieles, moderated by Ghislaine Boddington, founder of body>data>space.

 

For this special event, Rory Blain will discuss the work of Sedition, offering insight into the experience of producing and distributing the work of artists in a new format. Anders Petterson, the founder of London based art market research company ArtTactic Ltd will discuss innovation in art-market research methods, making them a leading commentator on the global art market. Petterson lectures on the topic of ‘Art as an asset class’ for CASS Business School and Sotheby’s Institute in London. Estela Oliva, independent curator and creative director is also the founder of Alpha-ville, a creative agency working across art, technology and digital culture. She will explore the impact of technology on human behaviour through the construction of hybrid environments in her work. Through engagements with performance, video, spoken word and photography, artist Eloise Fornieles examines the way in which live acts are documented and communicated. She will discuss her upcoming project that combines performance and social media, and examining the relationship between the two.

The panel is chaired by Ghislaine Boddington, Co-founder and Creative Director of body>data>space and Women Shift Digital. Ghislaine is curating the Future Love theme at the upcoming FutureFest 2016 and has worked extensively with interactive interfaces and body responsive technologies for the past 25 years. Her diverse perspective enables her lead the discussion into fruitful directions. Together the panelists bring together a wealth of experience to share during the weekend events.
