On Wednesday, 31 August 2016, Sedition presents a screening and artist talk in New York in collaboration with Postmasters Gallery. The event is part of the Art In The Digital Age series organised by Sedition, which brings together artists, curators and digital art specialists to explore the future of art making, collecting and curation, and is the first event hosted in New York.
From 7pm in a private location in the Lower East Side will feature a curated selection of digital artworks by artists including Andrew Thomas Huang, Claudia Hart, Katie Torn, Monica Cook, Brian Alfred, Mark Dorf, NONOTAK, Zeitguised, Rafael Rozendaal, Lawrence Lek, LoVid and LIA. Artists Claudia Hart, Katie Torn and Monica Cook will present to discuss their work and practice in conversation with Ashley Wong, Head of Programmes, Sedition and Paulina Bebecka, Director, Postmasters. The panel will offer an insight into the diverse ways in which digital media and art practice can combine, as well as considering how artists can negotiate a career in digital art. Meural will also present a digital canvas during the event showing works by Sedition artists as part of an ongoing collaboration. The screening and talk will be followed by a social event with music by DJ Antwan Duncan from 9pm onwards.
